All students enrolled in Ohio schools must pass all parts of the Ohio Graduation Test (OGT). This test will be given the week of March 15-19 to all students in the sophomore class as well as to juniors and seniors who have not passed one or more sections. Students taking tests need to arrive at the regular time to assure they are prepared and in testing rooms no later than 7:50 a.m.

Juniors and seniors who need to pass a section of the OGT will be notified of the day(s) they are scheduled to test. Parents are asked to reinforce the importance of these tests and make sure their child is at school on these dates. Questions may be directed to the counselors or Ms. Hauschild at 832-6025.

In order to support and accommodate students taking these tests, regular classes at Northmont High School have been adjusted. They will begin 2 hours and 49 minutes later each day during this week. First period will begin at 10:39 a.m.

  • Students not testing are strongly encouraged to find alternate transportation and plan to arrive at 10:30 a.m.
  • Students who are unable to find alternate transportation may ride the bus at its regularly scheduled time. However, those students will be assigned a study hall with regular study hall rules.
  • Students not testing, who arrive earlier than 10:30 a.m., need to enter Northmont High School through doors # 1, 4, 7 or 9, and proceed directly to the cafeteria for study hall assignment.

Northmont City Schools Kindergarten Registration Roundup! 2010-2011

The official kick-off for 2010-2011 registration for children who will be entering kindergarten in the Northmont School District next fall will be held on March 17th and 18th, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Englewood Government Center on West National Road in Englewood. To be eligible for kindergarten, the child must be five years of age on or before September 30.

DURING THESE 2 DAYS, NORTHMONT STAFF WILL BE REGISTERING ALL KINDERGARTEN ENROLLMENTS CENTRALLY.
WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILD TO REGISTRATION.

To expedite the registration process, you may bring with you completed registration forms that can be accessed at Northmont's public web page, www.northmontschools.com, and printed from your home computer.
There will be additional paperwork to complete at the time of registration; so please allow ample time.

2. Students receiving all four (4) primary immunizing doses of DTP or DTaP prior to their 4th birthday MUST receive a single booster dose prior to Kindergarten entry.
3. Students entering Kindergarten in 2010, need to receive 4 doses of any combination of OPV or IPV. The final dose MUST be administered on or after the 4th birthday regardless of the number of previous doses.
